MT. WOLF – Sen. Dawn Keefer (R-31) and Rep. Joe D’Orsie (R-47) hosted a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast today at the Eagle Fire Company honoring veterans for their courage, sacrifice and service to the nation.
The event drew a large crowd of veterans, their families and community members who celebrated and expressed gratitude for the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform.
Maj. Gen. Michael E. Wegscheider, deputy adjutant general – Army of the Pennsylvania National Guard, served as the featured guest speaker. He shared his insights on leadership, service and the enduring bond shared by those who serve.
“The freedoms we enjoy today are made possible by the selfless service of our veterans,” Sen. Dawn Keefer said. “It was an honor to spend the morning with so many heroes and personally thank them for their dedication to protecting our country.”
“We gratefully acknowledge our veterans’ sacrifices and their steadfast dedication to protecting freedom,” said Rep. Joe D’Orsie. “We hope this event serves as a heartfelt reminder of our community’s deep gratitude – and of the enduring value of freedom.”
In addition to breakfast and fellowship, attendees had the opportunity to connect with the Mobile Veterans Service Officer Outreach Team from the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, which was on site to provide information and resources for veterans and their families.
Keefer and D’Orsie expressed their gratitude to all who attended and the volunteers and staff who made the morning possible.
