I had the privilege of speaking at the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Celebration Luncheon hosted by Pennsylvania Association of Career & Technical Administrators in recognition of National CTE Month!
CTE connects students to real-world skills, good-paying, in-demand careers, and a stronger economy. It was inspiring to celebrate the students, educators, employers and partners building Pennsylvania’s workforce of tomorrow. Proud to support efforts that expand career readiness across the commonwealth.

It was great to join @abckeystone and their current Board Chair Steven Kearns with James Craft & Sons , Inc. for their Economic Outlook Breakfast. We heard from a national economist who shared a forecast for Pennsylvania’s construction industry in 2026. Thank you to Leer Electric for the invitation!
Had a fantastic time visiting middle school students from the @westshoresd’s gifted program. These students, who are currently exploring leadership styles in their special interest course, got to tour the Pennsylvania Capitol, meet elected officials, and be introduced on the House floor. It’s great to see young leaders so engaged and curious about government!

Had a great visit with students from @ycst_spartans_ at the Pennsylvania Capitol to hear firsthand about the skills they’re gaining to prepare for the workforce. These talented students are stepping into careers that fill much-needed jobs, and I’m proud to support them and the vital industries they’re entering.
During Senate session this week, I voted "NO" on the statewide cellphone ban in schools (Senate Bill 1014). While I agree, cell phones are a huge distraction in school and they should be limited, I couldn’t support the final bill because it usurped local control and mandated duplicative public meetings. I offered two changes to the bill that would have addressed my concerns but they were rejected.
Watch my comments on the two amendments I proposed at the links in my bio.
