2025-26 Committee Assignments Announced

I am thrilled to share my committee assignments for the 2025-26 legislative session!

This session, I have the honor of serving as Chair of the Local Government Committee, where I’ll lead efforts to address the key issues and policies impacting Pennsylvania’s 2,500+ county and municipal governments.

In addition, I’ve been appointed Vice Chair of the Urban Affairs & Housing Committee and am excited to be a member of several other impactful committees, including:

  • Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure
  • Education
  • Intergovernmental Operations
  • Law & Justice

These roles present incredible opportunities to advocate for our communities, and I look forward to working with colleagues all across the state to deliver a stronger, freer Pennsylvania.

The Gary Sutton Show is Back

I had the pleasure of joining several of York County’s esteemed elected officials at the launch of Gary Sutton’s new radio talk show this past Monday morning. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with local leaders, engage in insightful discussions, and celebrate the debut of an exciting new addition to the area’s media landscape. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact of Gary’s show and the conversations it will spark within our community.

Chief William “Bill” Hose (ret.) Honored for Law Enforcement Career in York City

It was a privilege to participate in the ceremony to celebrate William Hose on Tuesday. His legacy to York County is remarkable and an example to be followed by all.

Hose served with the York City Police for 29 years; his last 11 years he served as Chief and served as the York County Sheriff from 1996-2007. The York City police department dedicated one of their police cruisers in Bill Hose’s honor. With his signature on both sides, and the quote he was best known for, “Just Do the Right Thing.”

PennDOT Contest for Students to Improve Roadway Safety

Students are invited to participate in the Innovations Challenge to help the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) increase awareness for seatbelt safety and improve driver behavior for the benefit of our roads.

The challenge, which has an award of $6,000 for the winning team, encourages ninth- through twelfth-grade students to use their problem-solving, creative and strategic-thinking abilities to resolve real-world transportation challenges.

Regional winners will be invited to present their solutions to the PennDOT secretary and a panel of judges, who will determine the statewide cash prize winner. The submission deadline is Jan. 31.

Supporting Our Local Businesses with the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce

This week I attended the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce dinner.  It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local businesses, share ideas, and celebrate the growth and success of our vibrant community.

I look forward to seeing you all!

Free Winter Activities at State Parks

Staff at Pennsylvania state parks and forests host free events throughout the year for people of all ages. During winter, snow walks, bird watching, night owl hikes and more are among the activities available.

The event listing can be sorted by in-person or virtual events. It can also be filtered by region and date. To make it even more convenient, a personalized list of events can be emailed to you weekly if you build an event digest email to your liking. The email can be customized for your event preferences and when you wish to be notified.

Upcoming Meet and Greet

Save the date– I will be holding a Meet-and-Greet on Thursday, February 13, from 5-7pm, at my Dillsburg district office. To RSVP for this event, click here.

REAL ID to be In Effect on May 7

Beginning May 7, Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID-compliant license/identification card or other federally acceptable identification (such as a valid passport or military ID) to board domestic commercial flights or enter a military installation or federal facility that requires ID.

To get a REAL ID, you must bring your documents to a driver licensing center for verification in person. Learn about the specific items that are required to be issued a REAL ID. The website also offers the option to pre-verify online if your documents are already on file with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

REAL ID is optional. It is not required to drive, vote, access hospitals, visit the post office, access federal courts or apply for or receive federal benefits.
