Building a More Prosperous Pennsylvania: 2026 Priorities

As the Pennsylvania Senate begins the second half of its two-year session, I am looking ahead to my priorities for the coming year:

  • Streamlining government: Cutting red tape and reducing regulations that limit economic growth or slow local governments from responding quickly to community needs.
  • Increasing accountability: Giving lawmakers oversight of government entities that impose major costs on taxpayers through the REINS Act and similar legislation.
  • School property tax reform: Hosting town halls to show how we can replace school property taxes with a fairer, more stable system while protecting homeowners.
  • Securing Pennsylvania farmland: Safeguarding farmland from foreign ownership and working with national partners to secure our agricultural future.
  • Fiscal responsibility: Ensuring the state budget lives within its means. Overspending puts hardworking Pennsylvanians at risk of higher taxes and fees. Fiscal discipline is key to our commonwealth’s future.

I remain committed to serving our communities and working every day to cut unnecessary regulations, increase government transparency and make government work for you — not the other way around.

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day: Recognizing Their Dedication

Each day, law enforcement officers step forward to protect our communities, and on Jan. 9, we pause to thank them on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Their courage, dedication and professionalism keep our neighborhoods safe and our communities strong.

Take a moment to show your appreciation, whether it’s a simple thank-you, a note of support or a friendly wave. I am especially grateful to those who serve our communities and to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and well-being.

PA Farm Show Runs Jan. 10-17

The Pennsylvania Farm Show returns to Harrisburg Jan. 10–17 with the 2026 theme, “Growing a Nation,” recognizing America’s 250th anniversary and Pennsylvania’s lasting role in shaping the country through agriculture, innovation and hard work.

The Farm Show offers something for everyone, from interactive exhibits and educational programming to competitive agricultural events and family-friendly attractions. Visitors can enjoy longtime favorites like the Food Court, cooking demonstrations and hands-on learning opportunities. Admission is free, and parking is $15 per car.

Agriculture remains a vital part of Pennsylvania’s economy, supporting more than 600,000 jobs and generating $132.5 billion statewide. The Farm Show is a celebration of this impact and a reminder of the important role agriculture continues to play in our commonwealth’s future.

PennDOT Roadwork Schedules for Cumberland and York Counties

As we move into the winter months, PennDOT road work schedules are released less frequently. To ensure you stay informed, we will share PennDOT news releases about specific construction projects planned in our senatorial district.

Because these updates are issued based on project timelines, the information at the link may not change each week, and it may not include every project or reflect the latest conditions.

We hope these updates help you plan ahead, avoid delays and travel safely throughout the season.
