Marine Corps League Celebrates New ADA Ramp

I recently joined veterans and community members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating a new ADA-compliant ramp at the P.W. Milano Marine Corps League building at 601 Ross Ave. in New Cumberland. The ramp was built after some veterans were unable to access the building, ensuring everyone can now take part in the fellowship and activities there.

The project took two years of planning and fundraising, with construction completed in just one week after the necessary funds were raised. It was great to celebrate this accomplishment with the veterans who made it happen.

Taking to the Skies: Honoring Our Veterans

It was great to be a part of a very special event held by the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and Dream Flights at Capital City Airport to honor local senior veterans with an unforgettable experience — a free flight in a restored World War II-era open-cockpit biplane, the same type of aircraft once used to train America’s military aviators. Veterans had the opportunity to soar 1,000 feet above the airport and relive the excitement of their younger years.

I was grateful to honor our local veterans, thank them for their service and show our appreciation for the sacrifices they made to protect our freedoms. It was wonderful to see the joy on their faces and celebrate these heroes alongside their families and caregivers.

Discussing the Issues That Matter to Seniors

Seniors face unique challenges when it comes to rising costs, healthcare and protecting their financial security. Discover Resources for Older Adults at My Senior Expo

Please join me Thursday, Sept. 10, for my Senior Expo from 10 a.m. to noon at the West Shore YMCA, 410 Fallowfield Road, Camp Hill. Admission is free, and more than 50 exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions and share information about programs, services and resources available to older adults and their families.

In addition to valuable resources, attendees can take advantage of free health screenings and immunizations, enjoy light refreshments and enter for a chance to win door prizes. Eliminating School Property Taxes in Pennsylvania

For many Pennsylvanians, school property taxes are a significant financial burden, making it harder to afford their homes and remain in the communities they call home. We need to find a better way to fund public education without placing an ever-growing burden on homeowners and renters.

If you want to see meaningful change, I invite you to join me for a School Property Tax Elimination Town Hall on Monday, Sept. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the West Shore Theatre, 317 Bridge St., New Cumberland. We’ll discuss how public schools are funded, the details of my School Property Tax Elimination Act and how the legislation would eliminate school property taxes. A Power Grab That Could Impact Your Rights

Pennsylvanians have every right to question government policies that could affect their families, property and constitutional freedoms. I recently joined The Conservative Voice to discuss Gov. Josh Shapiro’s proposed changes to Department of Health Regulation 10-242 and the serious concerns they raise about government overreach, including expanded quarantine authority and potential impacts on private property rights.

The public comment period is open through Sept. 21 for residents to share their thoughts on these proposed changes. Comments can be submitted by email with the subject line, “Rulemaking No. 10-242: Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases; IRRC No. 3490.”
